Calculate a SHA digest for UTF-8 text or a local file. Digests identify integrity; they are not encryption.
How it works
- Digests identify integrity; they are not encryption and cannot recover the input. SHA-1 is for legacy checksums. A selected file is hashed as raw bytes, not UTF-8, and never uploaded. Files over 32 MiB are rejected.
